Focus on civitavecchia

Civitavecchia is a major port on Italy's western coast, serving as the gateway to Rome. The port is divided into two main areas: the northern and southern sections.

Both areas are integral to the port's operations, with the northern section emphasizing trade and industry, while the southern section focuses on tourism and travel.

Northern Area: This part of the port is primarily used for commercial shipping and cargo handling. It accommodates large vessels and plays a key role in Italy’s trade, especially for imports and exports. The northern section is equipped with industrial infrastructure, container terminals, and facilities for bulk goods.

Southern Area: The southern part of the port is dedicated to passenger traffic, including cruise ships and ferries. This area is more focused on tourism, connecting travelers to destinations like Sardinia, Sicily, and Spain. gAETA

Gaeta's seaport handles approximately 15,000 passengers weekly, with a mix of tourists and local commuters using ferry and cruise services. The port also sees around 20,000 tons of goods embark and disembark each week, primarily through its cargo terminals. It supports both commercial and military operations, contributing significantly to regional trade and tourism.
